The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation was co-founded in 2000 by eminent gynaecological oncology specialist Chairman/Co-Founder, Assoc. Professor Thomas Jobling and CEO/Co-Founder Liz Heliotis with founding partner, NAB.

The Foundation fosters research into ovarian cancer – a disease that claims the life of one Australian woman every ten hours. While ovarian cancer is identified with women, its repercussions affect all mankind. Without at least one healthy ovary, a child will not be born.

Currently there is no effective screening test for ovarian cancer and the majority of cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage. Finding a method of early detection is the key to improving the survival rate.

Australian Gourmet Traveller formed a partnership with the Foundation to increase community awareness of ovarian cancer and to raise vital funds for research.
